Xmas Movie Night

Being as I'm a huge nerd about movies, in my lair, every night is movie night. Seriously, I watch at least one movie every night over dinner (Ah, the joys of being single!) Anyway, as it would seem the season of that "other holiday" has arrived, I decided that before I wrestle it into submission, brutally murder it with a candy cane, then bury it in my crawlspace, I should at least try to welcome it with welcome arms. This I did with a double feature: Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and Bob Clark's "Black Christmas". This too are must-sees of mine, and should be on every Halloween and Horror fans must-see list for Christmas. I've attached the trailers below. Enjoy!

"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent."

A collection of music played on my favorite musical instrument, the pipe organ:

"Fallen Grandeur" by Midnight Syndicate: Passacaglia in C Minor, BWV 582 by Bach: Praeludium in C Minor, BWV 546 by Bach: "Grim Grinning Ghosts" as performed by Joseph Momot:

Shingle Creek Manor 2014

"Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world: now could I drink hot blood."
 - Hamlet, William Shakespeare

Always enjoy seeing the latest from Shingle Creek. The statues Mark creates are incredible.

Once Upon a Time

"Jack Zipes, professor emeritus of German and comparative literature at the University of Minnesota, says he often wondered why the first edition of the tales had never been translated into English, and decided, eventually, to do it himself. “Though the Grimms kept about 100 of the tales from the first edition, they changed them a good deal. So, the versions with which most English-speaking (and German-speaking) readers are familiar are quite different from the tales in the first edition,” he told the Guardian... Rapunzel is impregnated by her prince, the evil queen in Snow White is the princess’s biological mother, plotting to murder her own child, and a hungry mother in another story is so “unhinged and desperate” that she tells her daughters: “I’ve got to kill you so I can have something to eat.” Never before published in English, the first edition of the Brothers Grimms’ tales reveals an unsanitised version of the stories that have been told at bedtime for more than 200 years."

November

"No! Please! Say Halloween isn't over! Please!"
Sadly, Specters, Halloween has come and gone. I'm glad to say I had a great one this year, between journeying to Arizona to be with my friend Sharon, getting to do a bit of haunting via decorating for the Halloween party, doing my first body suspension (!), and attending what is no doubt the greatest Halloween party I have ever been to, courtesy of Sacred Ink Tattoos in Indiana, PA. There is much to tell you all in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled for some very exciting stuff!
