13 Days of Halloween: Halloween Playlist

Well, here it is, Specters – glorious October at last! In the most sinister year of 2013, no less! As promised, I am here to kick-off the 13 Days of Halloween! And for my first entry, I proudly present my playlist of Halloween music. Inspired by Pumpkinrot and his Dark Ambient playlists, I had tried previously to create a playlist to capture feeling of Halloween, but without much success. Now, after much careful editing and re-editing, I feel I have finally done it, having created a playlist with over twenty chilling tracks. I tried to use songs that were true to the Spirit of Halloween, but weren't cliches. Needless to say, you won’t find “Thriller” or “This is Halloween” on this playlist. But enough talk; on to the music. Click the haunted gramophone, and remember, this is designed to be listened to, not watched. Just hit "Play All", downscale the page, and let the season begin. Again, credit goes to Pumpkinrot for the initial inspiration. Enjoy!

It Begins...

This is it, Specters; 31 days 'til the Big Dance. Pumpkins will be carved, Styrofoam tombstones will be staked into yards, apples will be candied, and October shall commence. It is this time of year that I relish above all else. The air is crisp, the nights long and dark. This is the time of year where somehow the candy tastes sweeter. There is a feeling of magic in the air, and I wouldn't give it up for anything. Happy Haunting, everyone. This is going to be a great Halloween.

Oh, and don't forget, Specters, tomorrow the 13 Days of Halloween begins. It will start with the Dark Month and end with it. Tell your friends, and wait for the madness to begin...

The Pumpkin Snack Quest Continues

I seem to be going out of my way to try pumpkin snacks. I guess I have to hurry before the disappear from the shelves. Today I tried Little Debbie's Pumpkin Delights:

What first struck me was that it didn't look like pumpkin like on the box; more like a deformed smiley face:

When I opened the little plastic bag, it gave off a nice cinnamony smell. As the taste, it was actually pretty good. Had a nice, smooth pumpkin/nutmeg flavor. You should certainly grab a box if you can; it will be three bucks well spent.

Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare

Step Right Up, Ladies & Gentle-ghouls, the King of Shock-Rock, Rob Zombie, is opening his very own scream park! Based out of the Pomona Fairplex in Los Angeles, CA, The Great American Nightmare will be open from October 10th through November 2nd. Taking its name from song of the same name (click here if you haven’t heard it, it’s freaking awesome), the park will feature three haunted house, each based on one of Zombie’s movies: Haunt of 1,000 Corpses, the Haunted World of El Superbeasto in 3D, and Lords of Salem: Total Black-out. In addition to the three haunts, every night there are multiple live music performances from a variety of artists including Powerman 5000, Twiztid, Blood on the Dance Floor, Emilie Autumn, Winds of Plague, 45 Grave, and of couse, Rob Zombie himself, along with many others. There’s also a beer garden and midway. Needless to say, as a huge RZ fan, I am really wishing I lived in LA right now. Check out the main site below:
