"Outside of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, there’s few places that fright fans can go to find officially licensed haunts based on their favorite cinematic properties. In fact, most haunted attractions have to put their legally safe spins on our favorite horror icons, like “hockey mask killer” or “creepy burn knife man”, and one can’t necessarily blame them considering how competitive the haunt game can be. However, Pittsburgh, PA’s ScareHouse has gone above and beyond the call to action by partnering with mega-production house Legendary to bring two of Michael Dougherty’s petrifying properties to their interactive attractions: KRAMPUS and TRICK ‘R TREAT! 

That’s right: ScareHouse’s scenic and special effects artists have collaborated directly with Dougherty and Legendary to bring many of the mischievous underlings from KRAMPUS (hitting theaters December 7th from Universal Pictures) to life within the haunted attraction,, dubbed “Krampus: Come All Ye Fearful.” Guests will gain the rare opportunity to admire actual props, costumes, and practical creatures from the film before entering a highly immersive attraction that follows the legacy of Krampus, the iconic dark folklore figure as old as Christmas itself. The Pittsburgh haunted attraction will take visitors through generations of holiday horror, encountering with demonic minions before facing the Krampus itself."

Teenage Obsession

Just got this incredible new mixed media art piece, "Teenage Obsession", in the mail from Sharon Day of Ghost Hunting Theories and Madame Curio's. Like every piece from Madame Curio's, this one comes with an urban legend to tell the story of the piece:

Edward hated his first year of high school. With disdain, he studied the kids pouring out into the hallway between classes, like ants filing out of a dirt mound. Every one of them wasn’t worthy of the cars they drove, the houses they lived in, or the girls they dated. Especially Katrina. She was too kind, too perky, too likeable and no doubt still a virgin. If he was everything dark and stagnant, sulking and dire, she was everything sunshine. He wished to spread her hair out on a pillow and pollute her with his philosophy, his dark practices, and his lust. But, she was never coming to his side, unless the fates could be coerced…. Edward commanded his Ouija board obsessively to the point of doing nothing else, asking more and more of the other side to help him make his desire come to life. It asked for blood. It asked for her hair. All of this was necessary to bind her to him. With the help of the Dark Ones, Edward sought his goal. And then, as fate would have it, he was struck by a bus on his way back from buying cigarettes. And the board sat under his bed, undisturbed, as were all his belongings. And Katrina sulked in the classroom and felt a restless depression. She didn’t smile anymore. She didn’t interact. In fact, out of the blue, she bought a Ouija board on the way home from school and eagerly asked it to tell her why she was so melancholy. The board answered “E-d-w-a-r-d” and Katrina gasped. She knew a boy in school named Edward. He died. Katrina pushed away the board, swearing she would not use it again. But, later that day she pulled it back out and pushed around the planchette with an unseen force. And pretty soon, she wasn’t wanting to eat or go out, sleep or do anything but talk to the board. She felt bound to it for some obsessive reason. Bound to a boy named Edward…

"I was born with the devil in me...":

"Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the long-in-development The Devil in the White City with Martin Scorsese directing for Paramount, sources confirm. The project, which has been in the works for more than a decade, reunites DiCaprio with Scorsese two years after The Wolf of Wall Street. Paramount won an auction to buy the movie rights to Erik Larson’s book “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America.” The studio has previously owned the rights twice. 

 Billy Ray, whose credits include Captain Phillips and The Hunger Games, will write the script. Producers are DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Davisson along with Stacey Sher, Scorsese, Rick Yorn and Emma Koskoff. DiCaprio first joined the project in 2010. DiCaprio will play H.H. Holmes, who murdered between 27 and 200 people, mostly single young women. Set against the backdrop of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, The Devil in the White City tells the intertwining stories of fair architect Daniel H. Burnham and Holmes, who used a hotel he built near the fairgrounds to lure his victims."
