I have found your posts quite entertaining and useful. There is something I have noticed about what you humans call “Halloween” that might interest you. It seems that every year on October 31st a small war breaks loose between young children (which I believe are known as “trick or treaters”, which comes from the fact that they would demand “candy” so that they would not damage property) and home- owners. This would usually go as follows; the “trick or treater” would walk up the stairs and ring the doorbell. Next the homeowner would open the door with treats in hand (this symbolizes that they are in control). The child would say, “Trick or treat!” and the adult would (in the aftermath of this battle cry) be forced to give the child the treats. The child would then triumphantly move on to the next homeowner.
ReplyDeleteDo they push their luck? After reading your posts I looked further into the business and discovered that some homeowners fight back through what you call a “yard haunt”. However all attempts seem to be in vain because the children always win out.
